Film: Even Though the Whole World is Burning

December 6, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Even Though the Whole World is Burning

On Tuesday, December 6th, SustainFloyd will show the third and final documentary of its 2016 Fall Film Series, “Even Though the Whole World is Burning” at the Floyd Country Store. “Even Though the Whole World is Burning” is a documentary about the life of two-time Poet Laureate W.S. Merwin, who has won almost every major poetry prize that exists, including two Pulitzers. His legacy is based not only upon his writings, however, but also the singular form of environmental activism and land stewardship he embodies.

Bring a favorite dish and join us for a pot-luck at the Floyd Country Store on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. The film will begin at about 6:30 p.m.  After the screening we will share some poems from Merwin and other poets who have addressed environmental issues.  Those attending the screening do not need to be members of SustainFloyd. All are invited. A $5 donation is appreciated for viewing the film.
